Flathead Electric plans two-hour outage for some Libby customers on Friday

Flathead Electric Cooperative announced Thursday a planned power outage for Friday so it can perform system maintenance work.

The outage will happen from about 10 a.m. to noon and impact “1,390 members along Highway 37 and Kootenai River Road,” according to a news release.

“Upon conclusion of this planned outage, all Flathead Electric Cooperative members in Libby will experience a brief power outage sometime between 10 a.m. and noon,” the news release states. “This interruption in service will last only a few minutes. These outages are necessary to perform maintenance at the Libby Substation.”

The work and related outage was originally scheduled to occur Wednesday.
