Flurries will continue to dust the Flathead Valley this weekend as the area’s temperatures turn arctic, according to the National Weather Service’s Missoula Office.

On Christmas Eve, towns around the valley can expect to wake up to sub-zero temperatures, with Kalispell expected to dip to minus 1. Notoriously cold Polebridge is predicted to reach minus 16 degrees.

Snow will continue to fall on and off over the weekend, with 1 to 2 inches accumulating in the valley by Monday evening.

A chance of snow remains in the forecast for most of next week as well.

“The trend of the models indicate that the Northern Rockies are in a favorable flow pattern for off and on snow for at least the next 10 days,” it said.
