Bonner County Daily Bee | UPDATED 7 years, 3 months AGO

Regardless of all the disputable facts in the Shadow Valley Lane debacle, Bonner County commissioners must be held accountable for how they spend tax dollars.

This “lane” has been in suit for almost two-and-a-half years. The Deens and Walkers pursued and promoted one day of mediation over a year ago which the county refused to attend. A second court-ordered mediation happened over six months ago throughout the whole of which the county refused to entertain a single option except that the Deens’ home be removed (i.e.destroyed).

The county has hired two attorneys in addition to their own in-house man, a dozen property owners have been without legal access for over two years, and inspite of all attempts by the Deens and Walkers, including a willingness to deed private land and settle out of court, the county refuses to be reasonable.

Bonner County commissioners: Enough is enough.
