The Arlee Warriors were unstoppable as they took to the basketball court in Plains last week to take a win back home.
The Trotters headed up against the Scarlets, and though they went down at the final buzzer, the girls certainly fought hard.
Trotter Head Coach Jesica Nagy said though she was disappointed with the loss she was happy with how her team worked together on the court.
“We still have some work to do, but they played hard and worked as a team,” said Nagy.
Unfortunately for the Horsemen, they could not keep up against a strong Warrior side.
The Warriors were quick to make a basket in the first few seconds of the game and they seemed to just get stronger.
The Horsemen couldn’t gain the ground that was needed to stay in the game.
Horsemen, Kyle Weeks, Tanner Ovitt, Jay Vonheeder along with Sinjin Ladeaux and sophomore Jake Weyers all had moments where the home crowd took to their feet excitedy.
Head coach Mike Cole had said after the Thompson Falls match up that he had his team training hard for the Arlee game.
Though unlike the Trotters they didn’t seem to be syncing quite as well and not gaining enough confidence to get a good rhythm going.
The Horsemen will take the loss on the chin and come back strong in the new year as they continue to travel with more games ahead.
With more strategic practices that are sure to come their way, it could be a different story when the boys once again go head to head with the Warriors in Arlee on Jan. 25.
