The Trotters went into Friday’s nights game with a much larger crowd in the gym than usual and the air was heavy and thick with the anticipation of a very close game. The first quarter of the game belonged to the Scarletts, though by a narrow margin. Plains led 12-6 after one quarter of play.

Plains scored in single digits in the second and third quarters and the Trotters trailed by 11 heading into the final eight minutes of play. The Plains girls were behind by 11 points at the start of the fourth quarter with the score at 28-17, but the Trotters scored 19 in the final frame to make the game close. The late double-digit point drive in the fourth quarter was unfortunately not enough to earn the win, though it narrowed the loss to eight points.

Lindsay Laws scored 13 points to lead the Trotters, with Jessica Thompson close behind with nine points. Arlee Scarlets players Alyssia Vanderburg and Bryndle Goyins both scored 11 points during the game.
