Shippy, a 5-foot-9 junior infielder from Lake City High, was named to the Top 50 WatchList for the 2017 USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year, USA softball announced. Shippy was named the 2016 co-Big 12 Player of the Year, as well as an Academic All-American after hitting a team-high .425 while starting all 58 games, scoring a team-high 58 runs and driving in 31 runs. The top 10 finalists will be announced on May 10 and the top three announced on May 24.
Brittany Tackett

Tackett, a 6-foot junior forward from Coeur d’Alene High, was named Frontier Conference Player of the Week after averaging 19.5 points and seven rebounds in a pair of wins to extend the school’s unbeaten streak to 23 games (23-0). Tackett registered a double-double (20 points, 10 rebounds) in a 64-54 win against Rocky Mountain and gave the Warriors the lead late in a 58-53 win against Montana Western, finishing with 19 points. It is her third time receiving the award this season.

Idaho track and field
Story, a redshirt freshman from Coeur d’Alene High, finished second in her heat of the 3,000-meter run in 10 minutes, 3.22 seconds run during the Washington Indoor Invitational on Jan. 28 in Seattle.
Josie Brown
Washington State track and field
Brown, a sophomore from Coeur d’Alene High, finished sixth in her heat — the same heat as Story — in 10:14.12 at the Washington Indoor Invitational on Jan. 28.
