Chatwin sparks T-Wolves

COEUR d’ALENE — Hayden Chatwin got a key pin at 120 pounds for the Lake City Timberwolves in a 50-27 dual victory over the Sandpoint Bulldogs on Wednesday at Lake City High.

With the dual tied 27-27, Chatwin pinned Joshua Guthrie in 1 minute, 13 seconds. Lake City did not lose another weight the rest of the night.

Lake City travels to Lewiston tonight.

POST FALLS — Sophomore Vaughn Hoffman won his first varsity match at 182 pounds for the host Trojans, helping them close out the victory in their first 5A Inland Empire League dual match of the season.

“We wrestled OK overall — it was a decent league dual meet,” Post Falls coach Pete Reardon said. “Vaughn got a great win for us in his first time in the varsity lineup.”

Reardon also praised Brelane Huber (98 pounds) and Micah McLeod (160), who both won by pin.

The Trojans host Coeur d’Alene tonight in another IEL dual meet.
