YAKIMA, Wash. — Former Lake City High standout Cierra Dvorak had 20 points, nine rebounds and seven assists to lead North Idaho College past the Yakima Valley Yaks 83-76 in a Northwest Athletic Conference East Region game on Saturday.
NIC (11-9, 4-5 NWAC) remain tied with Yakima Valley (13-8, 4-5) in the East Region, with both trailing Treasure Valley by one game in the win column for the fourth and final playoff spot in the region.
“We just came out and played together as a team from start to finish,” NIC coach Chris Carlson said. “It was just a really good team effort from top to bottom.”
Giavanna Sorn added 18 points and Whitney Meier scored 17 points for NIC, which hosts Columbia Basin on Wednesday. Sequioa Swan had 31 points for Yakima Valley.

YAKIMA, Wash. — Jordan Henderson had 17 points and 11 rebounds off the bench for the Cardinals in a Northwest Athletic Conference East Region win against the Yaks.
“Jordan came out and played really well,” NIC coach Corey Symons said. “He came in and did everything he was supposed to do and played some big minutes.”
Markus Golder had 19 points and six rebounds, Niko Bevans 14 points and Sam Dowd 12 points and 10 assists for NIC (19-3, 7-2 NWAC), which has won four straight games.
Keyshawn Webb had 11 points and three assists for Yakima Valley (8-13, 2-7), which has lost four straight.
NIC hosts Columbia Basin College on Wednesday.
