Kamloops tops Chiefs

SPOKANE — Jaret Anderson-Dolan scored his 28th goal of the season late in the first period for Spokane, but a late goal from Garrett Pilon gave the Kamloops Blazers a 3-2 win against the Chiefs in Western Hockey League play in front of 6,059 at the Spokane Arena on Saturday.
Spokane (21-23-6-2, 50 points) lost three of four games to Kamloops in the season series.
Spokane had a chance to even the score at 3-all late in the the third, but a penalty shot by Kailer Yamamoto was denied by Kamloops Connor Ingram, who stopped 30 shots on the night.
Spokane now trails Portland by 11 points for the final playoff spot in the Western Conference and will host the Winterhawks on Wednesday at 7:05 p.m.
