Women Honoring Women is now calling for applications for its 2016-2017 Women of Wisdom scholarships. The Women of Wisdom Scholarship Fund was established in 2002 to encourage Bonner County women to become future Women of Wisdom by assisting in their quest for higher education. These scholarships are offered to seniors graduating from high school this spring or to graduated student continuing or restarting their post-secondary education.

Women Honoring Women is an organization committed to recognizing women, who over the course of their lives, have contributed to the betterment of our community, through their service and leadership, and who have served as inspirational role models in Bonner County. Since 1999, the organization has honored 96 women aged 65 or older, for their impact on Bonner County, their vision and goals, pursuit of knowledge, leadership and inspiration, and for facing life’s challenges with dignity, grace and courage.

With the growing necessity of further education and the high cost of obtaining it, WHW also is seeking individual contributions to help grow the scholarship fund and dispense a greater number of scholarships in future years to these very deserving women. Donations can be sent to the address below.

Scholarship applications can be downloaded from the organization’s website at https://bonnercountywomenofwisdom.shutterfly.com. Completed applications may be emailed to womenhonoringwomen@gmail.com or mailed to 1481 Wrenco Loop Road, Sandpoint, ID 83864. All applications must be received or postmarked by April 10 to be considered for the 2016-’17 academic year.
