Hudson Elynuik opened the scoring for Spokane with his 19th goal of the season. Taylor Ross made it 2-1 Chiefs after one on a tip of a shot by Alex Mowbray.

Keanu Yamamoto’s 20th goal of the season, on the power play, made it 3-1 Chiefs in the second period. Jaret Anderson-Dolan scored in his sixth straight game, his 30th goal of the season, to give Spokane a 4-2 lead after two.

Portland out-shot Spokane 50-28, including 20-5 in the third period.

Spokane is now 10 points back of Portland for the final playoff spot in the Western Conference, with 18 games remaining.

Spokane plays host to Tri-City tonight at 7.
