QUINCY — The Quincy Police Department is currently searching for two assailants who reportedly robbed a gas station at gunpoint early Monday morning.
About 1:10 a.m. on Monday two males reportedly entered the Quincy Conoco gas station, 308 F St. SE, with a shotgun and rifle. The suspects reportedly fired the guns inside the store, but there were no reported injuries. The assailants demanded money from the registers and were reportedly last seen leaving the store on foot with an undisclosed amount of money.
The robbery is similar in nature to another armed robbery that occurred in George about a month ago on Jan. 18. Two men reportedly entered Beer Wine & More of George, which is about 11 miles from the Quincy Conoco, and fired shots upon entering. There were no injuries in the robbery and the suspects left with cash and liquor. Officials have not stated if the two robberies are connected.
