ODEN — A single-wide mobile home was heavily damaged by a structure fire on Friday.

There were no injuries, according to Northside Fire Chief Brad Mitton.

The home is occupied by renters, although they were out of town when the fire broke out, Mitton said.

The fire occurred in the 1000 block of West Oden Bay Road at about 12:47 p.m.

Mitton said firefighters were able to contain the fire to a back bedroom in the home.

“It was a great response. We had mutual aid from Selkirk and Sam Owen. We got it knocked down pretty quick,” said Mitton.

Nevertheless, the home is likely a total loss.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation, although preliminary findings suggest it may have been the result of an electrical issue.

“We’re still trying to put all the pieces together,” said Mitton.
