The new Lancaster Market opened last week in the southwest corner of Highway 95 and Lancaster Road. Owned by Dan Duvall, it includes a convenience store, a San Francisco Sourdough Eatery and 12 Conoco gas pumps and separate diesel pumps.

The convenience store and gas pumps are open 24 hours daily, and the eatery is open 5 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily. A drive-through serves both places.

SF Sourdough has its headquarters in Coeur d’Alene and has 10 places in the Inland Northwest, one in Utah and 14 planned for California. It serves sandwiches, salads and soups. The Lancaster place has seating at tables and a counter (with beer growlers) and outdoor when seasonal.

Lancaster managers are Kirsty Orr and Andi Bourget with about 25 employees. Phone 758-7110.

Now for the Tidbits

• T.W. Fisher, who started T.W. Fisher’s Brewpub and the Coeur d’Alene Brewing Co. 30 years ago, bought the Emerald Cleaners building at Fourth and Montana Avenue. Renovation has started to create a new Midtown pub that will feature a flashback on earlier times.

• Most occupants of the Dingle building downtown need to be outta-there by the end of the March as it will be renovated into a hotel. Those occupants can contact me so their plans can be publicized.

• The Ugly Fish restaurant in Riverstone will be replaced with another eatery. And Press Start to Play will move from Sherman Avenue to Riverstone.

• Watch for Kitchen CDA in the Silver Lake Mall food court. Spies say other stores are coming into the mall also. Taco Loco will be where Valentino’s Pizza was off Canfield Avenue. The Gutter Guys will be on Government Way. Cash & Carry store will be behind Wendy’s off Appleway, and Cosmic Cowboy Grill will be at Highway 95 and Haycraft Avenue.

• In Hayden, an Asian eatery will be where Kynrede Cafe was on Government Way. A major development called The Crossroads is proposed for Athol. Watch for details. We anticipate a Super 1, a bank, coffee shop, a motel, a gas station-convenience store, a restaurant and others.

• Downtown — Watch for Rustic Restaurant at 309 Sherman (next to Clark’s Jewelry). Construction on a building at 915 E. Sherman is changing it into a residential triplex.

• The Findlay automotive group in Post Falls is adding a new “value lot” where Consign Furniture used to be. Details next week. Domino’s Pizza is moving to a new place in Post Falls. New places coming to Tedder Business Center (formerly the Post Falls Outlet Mall) north building will include Black-Ops Self Defense, Knowhere Comics, Coffee & Games, SNR Costume Rental, The Coffee House and My Big Fat Greek Deli.

• A special thanks to owner Chris Mueller at Bistro on Spruce for watching for our buddy Alan to arrive in his wheelchair and then clearing fast-building snow so he could roll up the ramp into the restaurant.

• The handbill and the aviator are both spelled “flier.” “Flyer” is a brand name.

• Take my advice; I’m not using it.

• A real headline: “Miners refuse to work after death.”
