Authorities have apprehended a man wanted for allegedly threatening to bomb the Lake County Detention Facility and kill detention officers.
A Flathead County Sheriff’s deputy arrested Michael Furbush, 27, in the Kalispell area at around 2:50 p.m. Authorities have Furbush in custody and are booking him into Flathead County Jail.
Furbush will be transported to Lake County within the next day.
Lake County Sheriff Don Bell said Furbush’s alleged threat came by text on a phone that was brought in to the Sheriff’s Office by the recipient. According to the text, Bell said, the bombing would have occurred by 5 p.m. Tuesday.
Furbush was booked at the detention facility Dec. 2, 2016, and was also booked a year earlier on drug related charges.
According to Bell, Furbush’s partner is currently incarcerated at the detention center he threatened, but Bell said he is not sure of the motive behind the threats.
