Residents, county officials and the town can take a breath of relief after a flood threat has passed.

Operation Flower Creek is completed as of Friday afternoon.

After a collaborative, proactive effort to break up ice buildup in Flower Creek, which runs directly through Libby, the channel is running smoothly.

The Lincoln County Emergency Management Agency announced the completion on Friday, after four full days of excavators working their way up from the Kootenai River confluence, were the creek meets the river, past the bridge on Balsam Street.
