Love letter to my husband

Forty years ago today was our wedding day. I didn’t know it then. You told me we were taking our mothers out to dinner. My mom drove and you said dress up, how was a girl to know. Both of our moms were in on it, yours brought flowers and my mom drove the car. I was in the dark, we got married next to Disneyland. So the fun began.

Between our mothers and you, I did not stand a chance. It was the best day of my life — a new beginning for you and me and the baby. I became a bride and a tax deduction on the same day. Life is full of surprises. Terry you are and always will be my prince. You know me better than I know myself, you have always thought of me first and my happiness. You have went along with my shenanigans at times, when you should have said no. Hell I should have said no.

The kid grew up and got married and had four kids of her own. Now it is you me and the cat. To think my mom told you to run, before it was to late. She said I would get you in jail or beat up. Boy was she wrong. I’m glad you did not listen to her. I’m so thankful for you and the wonderful life we share. It has been fun. Thank you for the memories. 14,610 days of loving you.

Point of interest: Hayli was adopted out to a wonderful family in Florida at birth and through an Ancestry.com DNA test and match was reunited recently with her birth family and a great family reunion the day after Thanksgiving.
