L. Apuleius, writer and historian from the 2nd Century A.D. as quoted by, St Augustine, in his exhaustive treastis, “City of God,” wrote “...all things earthly are subject to change, alteration and annihilation.

In preserving the history he knew of, he described: “The ground leapt apart with the enormous tremors of the earth, and whole cities were wiped out with their inhabitants; whole districts were swamped by sudden cloudbursts; what were once continents were changed into islands by the incursion of strange waters; islands were made accessible on foot by the withdrawal of the sea; cities were overthrown by winds and storms; in the East fire flashed from the clouds and destroyed whole districts by conflagrations; and in Western countries there were waterspouts and floods which caused equal devastation; on the summit of Etna the craters burst open and streams of flame ran down the slopes like mountain torrents...”

St. Augustine commented, “If I had decided to collect such instances of historical fact from all possible sources, when could I have brought the list to an end?”

He continues, “There is among us a great mass of the uneducated, and such people suppose themselves to have the authority of the learned, to foment bitter feelings towards us. These illiterates imagine there is something extraordinary in the mishaps of their own time and that they did not happen in other periods; those who know this idea to be false conceal their knowledge and support this delusion...”

1,750 years later, these are today's Global Warming, Climate Change alarmists who seek to take control of all carbon-based energy and commerce in the free Western world. Don' buy it folks. The U.N. and its “Consensus climate scientists” have absolutely zero power to control this organic ever-changing dangerous globe; its crust, its continental shifts, its relationship to the sun, spots and flares, and other planets and comets... it's weather.

They can and will take your money and curtail your freedom and mobility in a global grab for power if you let them — or actually believe their barely 50-year-old, ever-evolving, solar-disregarding, computer-modeled, pseudo-crisis-science.

EPA as savior? No thank you

According to Ed Javorka as he writes in “My Turn” in Saturday's paper, without the centralized federal oversight, scientific expertise, and dollars from the Environmental Protection Agency, EPA, our beautiful Lake Coeur d'Alene is going to become a hazardous waste dump and all the million-dollar lakeside property owners should go ahead and sell now. President Trump has, “instigated a war against Coeur d'Alene and Kootenai County.”

The die is cast
