The Lady Trojans handed Bigfork their first loss of the season on Friday in a close game of 56-54.

The game was tied up with less than 20 seconds left when Allie Coldwell hit the go ahead layup. On the ensuing possession Olivia Roach made a game sealing steal to help us walk away with the win.

The lead went back and forth between Troy and Bigfork, Troy falling behind in the first quarter, but bouncing back in the second, while Bigfork took the lead again in the third — starting the fourth quarter with Bigfork leading with 41-40. In the final quarter, the Lady Trojans outscored Bigfork 16-13 for the win.

“It was a great team win for us,” coach Justin Young said. “Both Olivia Roach and Sami Rohrich played some of the best defense I have seen them play, and I was happy with the effort our posts put in. And of course it was just a blast watching Allie Coldwell do her thing offensivly. She had some moves that made me shake my head in disbelief.

Coldwell scored 29 points. Sammi Rohrich, Aurora Becquart and Alyssa Lewis each tallied six, while Allie Brown came in with five, Kaitlyn Downey added three and Roach scored one.

The day after the tiring win over Bigfork, Ronan easily outpaced Troy in the first half.

The Maidens led 12-7 after the first quarter and 28-13 at half, coasting to victory in the second half 58-37.

“The girls’ effort was there during the game, they were just running on tired legs,” Young said. “Still it is great to play Ronan. they are the measuring stick in western B right now. It’s important to know what kind of caliber of basketball we need to be playing by the end of the season.”

Coldwell had 16 points to lead Troy, while Becquart had nine, Lewis scored six, Downey tallied three, Roach added two, and Rohrich gave one.
