Members of the Sandpoint Nordic Clubs Youth Ski League skate on the 4K groomed trail at the University of Idaho property on Boyer during a clear but crisp and windy Wednesday afternoon. The league has more than 40 kids of varying skill levels, from ages 6-18 years-old, who learn to cross country ski thanks to a group of local volunteer coaches. We try to make it fun for the kids. You can only do drills so long, said Sandpoint Nordic Club member Vicki Longhini. We do games that make them work on balance. Fun keeps them coming back.
