Chiefs stop losing skid

PORTLAND — Jaret Anderson-Dolan and Keanu Yamamoto scored two goals apiece for the Spokane Chiefs in a 6-5 win against the Portland Winterhawks in Western Hockey League play in front of 7,005 at Veterans Memorial Coliseum on Saturday night, snapping a season-high four game losing streak.

It is the first win in four games for Spokane against Portland, all coming by one goal each.

Spokane led 3-1 after the first period and took a 4-1 advantage on a goal by Eli Zummack early in the second period.

Portland scored three straight goals to even the score at 4-all. Yamamoto’s second goal of the night midway through the second gave Spokane a 5-4 lead.

Spokane (18-19-5-2, 43 points) plays at Seattle tonight at 5:05.
