Speech takes second at Ronan Invitational

The Whitefish speech and debate team capped off a weekend of strong performances with a second place finish in Ronan.
Columbia Falls took first with 212 points, Whitefish was second with 81 points, and Polson took third with 38 points for Class A schools.
The debate team of Zach Ade and Ian Caltabiano took first place in policy debate and Teigen Tremper and Adia Saurey finished in third and fifth place in informative speaking, respectively. Sophomores Ella Greenberg and Regan Tintzman finished just behind at sixth and seventh place in the same category.
Tremper also took second in impromptu speaking and senior Makkie Haller took third in extemporaneous speaking and fourth in impromptu.
Columbia Falls High School hosts the Western A Divisional tournament Saturday. The top competitors from the divisional meet go on to compete at state A tourney in Laurel Jan. 27 and 28.
