WALLA WALLA, Wash. — Sophomore Sam Dowd scored 33 points for North Idaho College in an 98-95 loss to the Walla Walla Warriors in a Northwest Athletic Conference East Region game on Wednesday night.

Dowd gave the Cardinals a 95-94 lead on a steal with under a minute remaining, but Walla Walla sealed the win on a pair of free-throws by former Post Falls High standout Dalton Thompson, who finished with 26 points and eight rebounds.

NIC (15-2, 3-1 NWAC) faces the Community Colleges of Spokane on Saturday at Spokane Falls Community College.

Walla Walla is 13-4, 4-1.

Cierra Jo McKeown scored 28 points for Walla Walla (11-3, 4-1).
