A 500-square-foot smoker for natural meats and a restaurant overlooking the water classifies the Boar’s Nest at 7712 W. Spirit Lake Road. With seating for 100 inside and 40 on the lakeside deck, the place formerly was Sedlmeyer’s Bar.

Partners Dave Howard, Rob Egusquiza and Yon Egusquiza remodeled the place and offer a full menu with Texas-style smoked meats, made-on-the-premise sides, desserts and a full liquor bar. They feature prime rib on Friday (and karaoke) and Saturday and offer catering.

The western decor includes wood, rock, local art and taxidermy. It has two wide-screen TVs. Winter hours are 11:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. Thursdays and Sundays and until 9 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays (with the bar later). Phone 623-3877.
