POST FALLS — Sophomore Tommia Pakootas scored a game-high 23 points, hitting seven 3-pointers to lift the Lakeside Knights over the Genesis Prep Jaguars 55-45 in a matchup of North Star League unbeatens on Saturday at Post Falls Middle School.

“Tommia shot the ball very well tonight,” Genesis Prep coach Debbie Holte said. “And that hurt us tonight.”

Rachel Schroeder scored 21 points and Bella Murekatete had 13 points, 14 rebounds and nine blocked shots for Genesis Prep (8-3, 4-1 NSL), which plays Northwest Christian on Tuesday in Colbert, Wash.

“It was a close game, but we just weren’t able to find an offensive rhythm,” Holte said. “We struggled with that throughout the game and Tommia was shooting the ball well. We just came up on the short end of the score tonight.”

Lillian Rhea scored 12 points for Lakeside (12-1, 7-0), which plays at Wallace on Friday.
