GEORGE — Two males reportedly robbed a convenience store in George at gunpoint Wednesday evening.

The two males reportedly entered Beer, Wine & More of George, located on Royal Anne Drive West, and fired several shots upon entering the store. One of the shots reportedly struck a beer cooler at the back of the store, breaking the glass. The suspects grabbed two employees and forced one of them to lie down on the floor, while the other employee was forced to open the cash register, according to Grant County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Sharon Palmerton.

The assailants left the store with cash and liquor. One suspect is described as between 17 and 20 years of age, and was wearing a gray hoodie with a scarf or bandanna around his face and white gloves during the robbery. The second suspect is also described as between 17 and 20 years of age, and was wearing a black sweatshirt with a black mask and gloves during the robbery.

“We would really appreciate the community’s help on getting these violent offenders off the streets before someone gets seriously hurt,” Sheriff Tom Jones said.
