POST FALLS — Two suspects face drug and grand theft charges after being arrested at the Walmart near the state line when they returned to the store with stolen merchandise, according to Post Falls Police.

Orvin Dawson, 44, and Nataliya Willard, 24, both of Spokane, were booked into the Kootenai County jail on Friday for felony grand theft charges.

Willard was also charged with possession of a controlled substance after methamphetamine and heroin were found.

Meth was found under the passenger seat where she was sitting and heroin inside her wallet, according to police.

Dawson was also charged with possession of drug paraphernalia after a scale was found in his back pocket.

According to the police report, the suspects stole $1,061.74 worth of items, including 21 video games, two knives, clothing, makeup, cologne, a BB gun, a cellphone and other merchandise.

"(A Walmart employee) stated that all of the items were stolen during the suspects' first trip to Walmart and that she had footage of the suspects concealing the items," the report states.

According to police, the two returned to the store about a half an hour later attempting to return the stolen merchandise.

When police returned to the store to locate the suspects a second time, they found the suspects inside a silver Mercury Sable.

"I asked Orvin why they were back at the store and he replied they had forgotten to buy some items, and the first time at Walmart was just to look around," an officer wrote in her report.

When Dawson was asked about the apparent stolen items inside the vehicle, Dawson told police he wanted to remain silent.

A third suspect inside the vehicle, Dean Powell, was cited with petit theft of a game camera and released.

All three suspects were issued trespass warnings. The driver's licenses of all three were suspended.
