Authorities have determined that an Idaho man found dead in the Yaak earlier this month was shot to death.
According to Lincoln County Sheriff Roby Bowe, an autopsy report showed that Travis Gillett of Sandpoint, Idaho died after being shot multiple times.
The death is being investigated as a homicide, and Bowe said Wednesday there are no suspects.
Gillett, 31, was reported missing in Bonners County on Jan. 14.
At 10:30 a.m. on Jan. 16, an individual called the Lincoln County Dispatch to report that their friend, Gillett, had left Sandpoint on the night of Jan. 13 with someone from Thompson Falls in a dark blue or green pickup truck to make a delivery somewhere in the Yaak. The caller reported that the Gillett told the caller that they would be back sometime the next day.
The sheriff’s office issued a press release on Jan. 18 that Gillett was found dead in the Yaak area on Jan 16. The body was recovered with assistance from the David Thompson Search and Rescue.
