Bryan Scott Kyhl was sentenced Tuesday to serve up to eight years in prison for two counts of grand theft.

The 39-year-old Spokane man was sentenced by District Judge Richard Christensen, who ordered the first 2.5 years of the sentence would be fixed, and the remaining 5.5 years would be indeterminate with credit for time served.

Kyhl pleaded guilty to the charges that related to the theft of multiple items from a residence’s outbuildings. Stolen items were recovered from Kyhl’s vehicle and storage units throughout North Idaho and Montana.

Christensen considered Kyhl’s significant criminal history, which included seven misdemeanor convictions and six prior felony convictions. The criminal history includes six theft-related convictions.
