COEUR d’ALENE — Whitney Meier led a balanced effort with 17 points as North Idaho College beat the Wenatchee Valley Knights 75-70 in an East Region game at Rolly Williams Court on Wednesday.

“Whitney really got it going,” NIC coach Chris Carlson said. “She had a couple of tough games and is starting to figure out when she gets her look, take it.”

Giavanna Sorn added 16 points and Lana Berg 15 points for NIC (9-8, 2-4 NWAC), which plays Blue Mountain on Saturday in Pendleton, Ore.

“Our posts were very efficient tonight,” Carlson said. “We’re getting better a little bit at at time. It was a good team effort.”

Whitney Sapp had 18 points for Wenatchee Valley (6-12, 2-4).
