Lake City Playhouse in Coeur d’Alene will hold a town hall meeting Sunday and a benefit concert next weekend.

The town hall meeting takes place at 6 p.m. at the theater, 1320 E. Garden Ave. Actors, musicians, crew members and community members are invited to attend.

Several board members and artistic team members will be present to answer questions.

The concert — Benefit for Lake City Playhouse: A Return to Community — will be held Saturday, Feb. 4 with drinks and dessert at 6:30 p.m. and the show beginning at 7:40 p.m. The performance will feature performers from around the region with ties to the Playhouse. Tickets are $35, and proceeds will help pay for the Playhouse’s first major stage production, which should be announced soon.

Since 2014, Lake City Playhouse has been operating as Modern Theater Coeur d’Alene, a name change that occurred when the Playhouse merged with the then-failing Interplayers Theatre in Spokane. The theater in Spokane folded at the end of December and now, Lake City Playhouse is transitioning back to its community theater roots in Coeur d’Alene.

“Lake City Playhouse board members have been fielding emails from concerned season ticket holders. We encourage all season ticket holders to check their spam folders as many of our emails detailing our plans have been found to be going there,” stated a news release received by The Press late Friday afternoon. “Also if a season ticket holder 'opted out' of receiving emails when they purchased their season tickets, that action has blocked our emails as well.”

According to the news release, Playhouse representatives will be calling all Modern Theater Spokane and Coeur d’Alene season ticketholders Monday, Jan. 30, with ticket exchange options.
