The cause of death has been determined in the homicide that took place in the Yaak on the weekend of Jan. 14, although the sheriff’s office has no suspects as of Wednesday.

According to Lincoln County Sheriff Roby Bowe, the autopsy reported that Travis Gillett of Sandpoint, Idaho died after being shot multiple times.

An investigation is still underway, and Bowe said that there are no suspects as of Wednesday.

The investigation started on Jan. 14, when 31-year-old Gillett was reported missing in Bonner County.

At 10:30 a.m. on Jan. 16, an individual called the Lincoln County Dispatch to report that their friend, Gillett, had left Sandpoint, Idaho on Jan. 13 with someone from Thompson Falls in a dark blue or green pickup to make a delivery somewhere in the Yaak. The caller reported that Gillett told the caller that they would be back sometime the next day. Gillett was then deemed a missing person.

The sheriff’s office issued a press release on Jan. 18 that Gillett, who had been reported missing a few days prior, was found dead in the Yaak area on Jan 16. The body was recovered with assistance from David Thompson Search and Rescue.
