Cabinet Peaks Family Medicine is welcoming two new providers: Justine DeRousse, PA-C and Riki Thompson, FNP. DeRousse began fulltime work in the same-day side of the clinic in June, and Thompson will begin her family practice, seeing scheduled patients, in August.

DeRousse has been a physician assistant since 2001, and received her master’s degree from Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan. She also earned a bachelor’s degree in health care administration from Eastern Michigan University. Prior to her physician assistant education, DeRousse was a registered nurse for 12 years and worked in various areas of medicine including hospital care, emergency medicine, primary care, urgent care, cardiology and cardiac surgery, and oncology.

Thompson recently became certified through the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. She is a Libby native who started her nursing career working in Oregon, but moved back home and has been a registered nurse at Cabinet Peaks Medical Center since 2007. Thompson has also worked in various areas of medicine including emergency medicine, obstetrics, pediatrics, hospital care, nursing management and oncology/infusion.

DeRousse is available for same-day appointments by calling 406-283-6850. Thompson will begin her practice at the clinic in late August.
