Brothers Tim and Todd Pays not only both played football for Carroll College together, the pair graduated together from the College on May 13. Both earned 4.0 grade point averages, graduating summa cum laude with degrees in civil engineering.

After graduation, the pair went on a mission trip to India to serve and rebuild orphanages.

The pair, who graduated Sandpoint High School in 2013, will return for a semester in the fall to play their senior year (they red-shirted). They also are both leaders in Chi Alpha Campus Ministries.

The pair also were named National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics Scholar Athletes, with Tim also earned College Sports Information Directors of America All-District honors. In order to be nominated for the NAIA Scholar Athlete honors, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and must have achieved a junior academic status to qualify for the honor.

The honors continued from the brothers, with both Tim Pay and Todd Pays being selected to receive the Outstanding Engineer Award. The awards recognize graduating seniors who have made significant academic achievements during their years at Carroll. A selection committee of department faculty considers students’ academic performance, development of strong personal character, and contributions to and support of fellow students and Carroll College.
