The Bunny Club recently hopped into Plains for the annual cotton tail camp out show.
President Karla Hetzler of the Missoula based club is an affiliate of the American Rabbit Breeders Association (ARBA). The family-friendly club sanctions show around West Montana, promoting good breeding standards and ethical raising.
There are 49 breeds of rabbit and as such the club is passionate about teaching correct practices and supporting youth within the industry.
Husbandry, showing and caring for the animals are all a part of what they offer. Connecting with 4-H Clubs is another important aspect they feel is part of why they are a successful club.
Kenadie Gruel was there with her bunny, Penny, and was supported by friend Quinny Dequattro. Gruel is a member of the Galton County club and is also involved in 4-H club.
This family friendly hobby was definitely a hit during the weekend. For any information on joining a club, visit www.arba.net
