Montana Aussie Adventures with Erin-Jay

Another week and another sunny day in Montana and I can’t tell you all enough how gorgeous this little slice of heaven is.
Though it’s still new territory, I am finding my way around the county. I even ventured to Quinn’s restaurant my first Saturday here in the county.
I was completely blown away with the look of the restaurant and of the food! AMAZING food, and talented chefs in the kitchen, I’m glad you didn’t keep that secret from me.
Where I’m from, Townsville North Queensland, we are known to have the best seafood in the country (just ask anyone from there. So, when I decided to go with a seafood dish, I was hoping I would get blown away like I did.
My favorite shell crustaceans are clams. That comes from growing up in New England as a child. The clam boils are famous for good reason. But the other night I took a chance on the mini clam appetizer, and what a wonderful surprise to be greeted with jaw dropping smells of a dish that tasted just as good as it smelled.
Now, Australia is of course known for our ‘shrimp on the barbie’, however, I have to say that I am loving the seafood here in Montana.
I will say your cod doesn’t stack up to our Barramundi, but I think I just need to find some local recipes to know how to best cook it.
Nonetheless, the food is amazing and I also tried huckleberry for the first time and found out there is even a festival!
How amazing is that? I can’t wait to check that out and keep expanding my taste buds to what is local cuisine.
Now to enjoy all the July 4 celebrations and food, if I can even move after all the food I enjoyed.
Stay safe, enjoy summer and, until next week, Hoo-Roo
