Basin Summer Sounds coming Friday and Saturday

EPHRATA — Basin Summer Sounds is returning to Ephrata on Friday and Saturday and is billed to be one of the biggest and best installments of the free music concert in years.

The annual music festival will be taking place in front of the Grant County Courthouse and will be rocking the town Friday night and Saturday afternoon/night. The Friday night schedule is as follows:

5 p.m. - The Stoney River Band: Led by lead singer/guitar player Gordy Grenier, a Coulee City native, the band plays new and classic country music.

7 p.m. - Jones and Fischer: Based out of the Pacific Northwest, Darin Jones and Caleb Fischer make up one of the best upcoming country bands in the state.

9 p.m. - Spike and The Impalers: A returning favorite, the classic rock band got together over a decade ago and has been entertaining audiences for years.

The Saturday schedule is as follows:

1 p.m. - Alec Shaw and Friends: Alec Shaw is a Seattle-based musician/producer who performs with a group of nine fellow musicians during live shows.

2:30 p.m. - Ranger and the Re-Arrangers: Exemplifying the spirit of “gypsy jazz,” Ranger and the Re-Arrangers have been touring for years and have performed at a number of different music festivals.

4 p.m. - Briana Renea: A 21-year-old singer/songwriter, Briana Renea is an upcoming country music artist who is making a name for herself in the music industry.

5:30 p.m. - Nite Wave: Nite Wave is a Seattle-based 1980s cover band that draws inspiration from Duran Duran, Tears for Fears, WHAM!, Spandau Ballet, The Police and other super groups from the 1980s.

7 p.m. - Brewer’s Grade: A country music band, the group has been performing since 2013, with lead singer/guitar player Zac Grooms and drummer Cody Christopherson performing together for the last 16 years.

9 p.m. - XEB: XEB features former and original members from the 1990s group Third Eye Blind.

Basin Summer Sounds isn’t simply about music, as other events such as the Rim-2-Rim Basketball Tournament at 8 a.m. on Saturday, food vendors, the Ephrata Farmers Market and a beer and wine garden will be open for attendees to have an even better time.
