MOSES LAKE — Police are investigating an early Monday incident in Moses Lake in which several shots were allegedly fired at a mobile home park.

About 1:15 a.m. the Moses Lake Police Department responded to a mobile home park in the 900 block of South Division Street after multiple people reported hearing shots fired in the park. Witnesses said they heard three shots fired, followed up by a man and woman yelling. The woman allegedly yelled louder and three more shots were fired, according to police records.

The yelling then reportedly stopped, with one witness claiming they heard at least one more shot fired. Police arrived at the scene and responded to one of the trailers, but there was no answer at the door. A search warrant was obtained and a man answered the door as officers attempted to carry out the warrant.

The man claimed two males had guns behind his residence and shot at each other. The man was not able to give police a description of the males or the guns he claimed they had. A gun was reportedly located on a bed in the residence and taken into police custody for evidence, but no shell casings were recovered. Police reportedly located two sets of shoe prints in a construction area behind the residence. Police records indicate a broken window on one of the trailers in the part was “likely caused by a stray bullet.” The incident is under investigation.
