Thomas Duane Bloxom, 75, of Coeur d’Alene Idaho, passed away on Sunday, July 23, 2017 from Lung Cancer. He died comfortably and peacefully with his family by his side.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m., Monday, July 31; in Coffelt’s Chapel. Dale Coffelt will be officiating with a reception to follow at the Sandpoint Eagles Lodge.

Tom was born Sept. 21, 1941, in Sandpoint, Idaho, to Clair and Dorothy Bloxom. He grew up in Sandpoint and graduated from Sandpoint High School in 1960. Tom joined the Army Reserves after high school, serving for seven years. He also attended the University of Idaho in Moscow where he graduated in 1968 with a bachelor’s degree in education. Tom spent summers working for the U.S. Forest Service and after graduation he became a crew boss for the Hot Shots of the Kiniksu National Forest.

Tom married Linda Becker in September 1971. He became a contract officer for the National Forest Service in Priest Lake, Idaho, later transferring to Sandpoint, then to Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, and finally to the regional office in Mis-soula, Mont., where he and Linda raised their family. Tom retired in 1995 from the Forest Service and in 2000, he and Linda moved back to Coeur d’Alene.

Tom enjoyed gardening, baseball, catching up with friends and spending time with his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clair and Dorothy Bloxom; his, brothers, Joe, Bill, Bob and Loren; and a sister, Patsy Rogers.

Tom is survived by his wife, Linda; his sons, Patrick and Kevin (Cris); a daughter, Valerie (Justus); a brother, Jack, four grandchildren, Asher, Taj, Azalia and Rio; and many nieces and nephews.
