Libby Mayor Brent Teske has accepted the role of emergency management planner for Lincoln County. His first day of work is Aug. 7.
Teske was one of nine people to apply for the fulltime job, Human Resources Director Dallas Bowe said via email. He’ll be taking over the role previously held by Lisa Oedewaldt, who left in early June.
According to the job description Bowe provided, the emergency management planner “performs difficult skilled technical and administrative work supervising and directing emergency or disaster preparedness plans for the county” and will be directed by the County Commissioners.
Teske, a former Libby Police Officer, will coordinate with law enforcement, firefighters and other first responders in his new role.
Bowe wrote that the most pressing items on Teske’s to-do list are to complete the mountain top repeaters and to meet emergency personnel.
