Libby to flush hydrants Aug. 7 to Aug. 11

The Libby Water Department will conduct its bi-annual fire hydrant flushing program from Aug. 7 to Aug. 11.

Note that flushing can stir up turbidity that has settled in the bottoms of the pipes in the water mains and water system. If this occurs, residents are advised to flush out their own plumbing before using the water for internal use.

Enough chlorine is maintained throughout the system to handle any bacterial problems.

For more information call the Water Department at 406-293-2731, Ext. 1.
