A look back at a great spring sports season

BONNERS FERRY — As this season draws to a close, we thought you may enjoy a look back at some of the fun that was had, from the hard scrabble Lacrosse Warriors who refused to give up, to the Badger Softball team, which brought home the State Championship for the first time.
This season saw the Badgers Baseball team defending their title to the end, taking second in State. They earned the distinction of having the most-watched webcast from the baseball tournaments with over 10,000 live viewers, according to IdahoSports.com.
A state record was broken by Isaac Lavala, a football player who found he had a gift for pole vaulting, as he soared to new heights by clearing 15’2”.
What every one of these athletes had in common, was amazing spirit , a fantastic team of coaches who believed in them, and the support of a proud community.

Fun in the bogs on 'mudders day'
BONNERS FERRY — Over Mothers Day weekend, May 11-13, trucks and off-road vehicles swarmed to the Moyie Mud Bogs once again. The fields were packed with campers, tents, and muddy vehicles, earning this event the nickname “Mudders Day.”
Pilgrim Soul Forge: Blacksmithing on the Boundary
BONNERS FERRY — The blacksmith of days gone by was a skilled artisan as well as a community resource. They were born of a time when people repaired objects, rather than throw them away. In this tough economic time, there is again a calling to fix rather than replace.
Rotary Club hosts picnic for first responders
BONNERS FERRY — The inaugural Bonners Ferry Rotary First Responders Picnic was held at the Boundary County Fairgrounds on May 20, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. About 125 people attended, with 50 of them being first responders and the rest being family or supporters.
