A Kalispell couple, convicted of stealing more than $30,000 worth of property from a home on Prairie View Road in April 2016, each received a 10-year suspended prison sentence on May 25.

Baltimore Carper, 36, previously pleaded guilty to felony theft, and his wife, Amanda Carper, 30, pleaded guilty to accountability to theft, according to a plea agreement in Flathead District Court.

According to court documents, the couple robbed the house of firearms, tools, money, motorcycles and hunting and sporting equipment after the husband had a falling-out with the homeowner.

The homeowner stated that he had allowed Baltimore to stay in the house for a few months while he was out of town. An argument between the two over living arrangements resulted in the owner telling Baltimore to leave.

The homeowner later returned to find the house rummaged through and the items missing.

Several of the items were found at a pawnshop in Kalispell.

Authorities believe the couple then fled to Oregon, where they allegedly stole a trailer and were later found by the Wallowa County Sheriff’s Office.

Amanda was sentenced to 10 years in Montana Women’s Prison with all time suspended.

Baltimore was sentenced to 10 years in Montana State Prison with all time suspended.

In addition to their sentences, the couple must pay restitution in the amended amount of $21,900 to their victim.
