Railroad crossing closed Wednesday
Whitefish Pilot | Hagadone News Network | UPDATED 7 years, 10 months AGO
Emergency repairs at the railroad crossing at State Park Road will cause the crossing to be closed Wednesday, June 7 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
BNSF Railway crews will be making the repairs. Because this closing will “land lock” a portion of the city, BNSF is planning some preventative measures, according to City Manager Adam Hammatt.
Reader boards will be in place to notify residents of the closure; Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks will be notified; a vehicle will be staged on either side of the crossing for shuttling purposes; and equipment and materials will be on site to build an emergency access across the tracks, should one be required.
For more information, contact BNSF Roadmaster Daryl Braun at 863-0253.
