Flathead Valley seniors can step into a Hawaiian Luau-themed party Friday afternoon.

The Agency on Aging will host the Older Americans’ Picnic at the Flathead County Fairgrounds Expo Building on June 16 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Christine Neater with the agency said the event has been an annual tradition for more than two decades.

“It’s an event to honor senior citizens in our county,” she said.

Anyone 60 and older can attend the free picnic. Lunch will be served from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Neater said The Sunshine Singers will perform during the opening ceremony, which kicks off at 10:45 a.m. The ceremony will include a welcome from Lisa Sheppard, the executive director of the local Agency on Aging.
