Montana Alpine Race School’s Cedar Mattole has been named to the U.S. Telemark Ski Team for the 2017-18 season.
U.S. Telemark names players to the World Cup, U.S. and development teams each year. Mattole is the youngest member of the U.S. team.
Mattole finished 12th in the classic and 13th in the sprint at the U.S. Karbon Nationals contest in Grand Targhee, Idaho, and will compete in a few Junior World Cup events next season.
Racer Annika Severn-Eriksson was also back on skis May 24-28 for the “Flight School” training camp at Mammoth Mountain, California. The event brought the top 15-year-olds in the USSA Western Region to work on speed racing.
As a member of the U16 Western Region Training Group for the 2017-18 season, Severn-Eriksson will also be attending the USSA Western Region Slalom Camp in August for the top U16 tech skiers.
