Schweitzer Cutoff Road closing

SANDPOINT — Schweitzer Cutoff Road and its intersection with Boyer Avenue will be closed to all traffic starting Monday as work continues on the Sand Creek Bridge replacement project and the installation of a traffic roundabout, according to the Local Highway Technical Assistance Council.

The closure will be in effect 24 hours a day until the roundabout is completed, which is targeted for late summer. The bridge, meanwhile, will be closed to traffic until its completed by the end of October.

The bridge replacement project is a joint project involving the cities of Sandpoint and Ponderay with emergency funding from LHTAC. The roundabout is being funded by the city of Sandpoint.

The detour route includes West Bronx, North Boyer, Woodland Drive, Great Northern and Baldy Mountain roads.
