The Easy Rider's 4-H club made an excellent showing bringing home 11 awards at the recent Diablo's 4-H Open Horse Show in Coeur d’Alene competing in the 12-15 age division.
First year member Erin Anderson, and her horse, Chloe, had a great day at the event taking home third place ribbons in the bareback equitation and the non-colored horse class, fourth place in the senior (horse) class, and a fifth in western pleasure.
Jaden House, in her third year in the horse project along with her horse Max, received first place ribbons in maiden class, non-colored class, and the command class, as well as fourth in fitting and showing, and trail, and sixth place ribbons in stockseat equitation and senior (horse) class.
Easy Rider’s leader Leslee Stanley couldn’t have been happier with her girls’ performance and was pleased at how the girls were able to improve on things they had previously struggled with.
“Both girls were exceptionally excited to accomplish their goals for this show working hard to learn how to properly cue their horses for specific movements then doing various exercises to train their horses,” Stanley said. “Erin was able to get Chloe to take the correct lead and Jaden was successful in getting Max into slow relaxed gaits.”
Both House and Anderson recently competed in the oral presentation contest and qualified for the state competition in Boise next month.
Anderson received a reserve champion with her presentation on what you should have in a first aid kit for your horse and how to use each item, and House received a blue ribbon for her presentation on how to identify the various flies that are pests to horses, treatment, and control measures.

How Now Snowplow
Each year, the Idaho Department of Transportation (IDT) waits for this moment knowing full well that the chaos tends to get worse before it gets better, largely because people struggle to coexist with the snowplows while they’re out clearing the roads.
