Diane Gayle Brown Whitney

Diane Gayle Brown Whitney passed away June 12, 2017 at 11 a.m.

She was born to Marie (Slette) Brown and Wade Brown on April 8, 1943. She peacefully entered into rest in Seattle, Washinigton, after a long illness.

She spent her childhood in Sandpoint, Idaho, where she shared fond memories of spending time with her grandmother, Mina Slette. She married Mike Whitney and moved to Las Vegas, Nevada, where they raised their four children. Diane and her family moved to Sequim, Washing-ton, and lived there for many years.

Diane is survived by her husband, Mike; sons, Jim and Ron (Tina); daughters Tami (Duke) Reeder and Kelli (Tom) Graves; sister Judy (Russ) Gill; and brother Doug (Jeannie) Brown. Diane found so much joy in spending time with her eight grandchildren, Lindsay, Jodi, Kristi, Isaiah, Nathan, Sarah, Keeshawn, and Carli; and her two great-grandsons, Blake and Rylan. She will also be greatly missed by her aunts, Ruth Rodeen and Virginia Jones; stepmother Marilyn Brown; five nieces and six nephews, and many cousins and lifelong friends.

Diane loved her little dogs and enjoyed her time with them. She also enjoyed old photos, creating beautiful and thoughtful cards for friends and family, and collecting Elvis memorabilia. Her compassion, patience and selflessness showed in everything she did.

She was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents; a brother, Wade Brown; sisters, Marla Rasmussen and Janis Favorel; and stepfathers Ed Stidwell and Ken Osborn.
