Body found in river ID'd as Hungry Horse woman

The body of a woman recovered from the Flathead River on Tuesday evening has been identified as 68-year-old Kassy Lynn Browning of Hungry Horse.

According to a press release from the Flathead County Sheriff’s Office, Browning was reported missing June 10 by family members from the Hungry Horse area.

Her body was initially discovered in the river near Columbia Falls by a woman walking along the shore just south of the Teakettle Fishing Access.

Deputies responded to the call at around 10 p.m. that night.

According to Flathead County Sheriff Chuck Curry, the cause of Browning’s death is still pending, and the case is still under investigation.
